Tattered Women | Jamiya Wilson

Fine art project, Tattered Women, by New York photographer Jamiya Wilson.

Tattered Women, is a fine art project that draws parallels between the treatment of women in the fashion industry, namely models, and remnants of fashion advertising that has been torn, defaced, or altered in some way either by the elements or by man. Sex, racism, exploitation, and isolation are just some of the issues covered with each photo being given a unique title reflecting the issue depicted. The photographs have been captured on the streets of NYC, where the fashion industry in the U.S. resides. It is my goal that through this work we raise awareness of these issues in hopes of changing the perception and treatment of models in fashion.
